Twitter is currently unavailable due to the recent rather large twitter API change. News items are unavailable for the moment, Twitter news items will be back when Haikufire 2.0 is released

The Webkit based browser has seen several milestones thanks to the tireless effort of all the good folks porting it.

The browser has reached another milestone... being completely usable!

There have been several changes to the site over the last few days, there still is a lot of functionality missing but things are starting to come to life.

Changes:
  • Fixed RSS feed
  • Redesigned software page
  • MediaWiki format now supported in application description.
  • Twitter news item error handling
  • Neat drop down login prompt
Lots of things to come, still working on submission system.. you can submit apps at the moment but can't edit them just yet.

Today I hacked up an early Haiku application to navigate the HaikuFire website and download programs to your hard-disk. A preview of what I have is so far is here. The application names are pulled straight from the database on launch, and yes that is an early interface.
Qt4 and Arora binaries now available by kallisti5 on Nov-03-2009 09:11 am
New software on Haikufire includes the Qt4 binaries and the Arora web browser.

Please keep in mind the Qt4 port is still in an early state and may be crash prone.
QT4 ported to Haiku by kallisti5 on Oct-27-2009 12:10 pm
An important announcement, an external project has ported the popular QT graphical tool kit to Haiku. Porting QT4 to Haiku opens up a huge number of applications to the Haiku operating system (including the Arora QT4 web browser seen here). This port does worry some that application developers may start focusing on developing in QT4 instead of the native Haiku/BeOS GUI.
